Last Friday’s concert at the ICA went really well! We had a great turnout, and I was happy that many of my family and friends were able to come out and support me and the world . The audience was fabulous; I couldn’t believe how quiet they were during the long performance. Sound Icon was lucky to be the Boston Globe’s Critic’s Pick of the week, and we also ended up getting a great review in the Globe on Tuesday, which can be read here. I’m so happy that this group is getting so much good press! I am excited to be playing with them again at the end of the month – at BU on February 25.
I have recently posted the recordings for two of John Aylward‘s works that we worked on together in the fall. They can now be heard on the Listen page. I recorded Compulsive Loves with John McDonald of Tufts University. It was written for an album celebrating the life of Milton Babbitt that is being published by the esteemed contemporary music journal, Perspectives of New Music. The second addition to the Listen page is the recently performed work, Aura, from the concert at the Tenri Institute on December 16. This live recording came out pretty well, with the help of Louis Karchin conducting and many fabulous players! I hope you take a moment to listen to the works, and let me know what you think!
